Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd - Temporary Road Closure - Swamp Road, Lydd - 2nd December 2026 (Folkestone and Hythe District) Due to works planned to be undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, it will be necessary to close part of Swamp Road, Lydd, from 2nd December 2026 with estimated completion by 3rd December 2026. Swamp Road, Lydd, will be closed at the level crossing, between the hours of 23:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dennes Lane, Caldecott Lane, B2075 Romney Road, A259 Lydd Road, Swamp Road and vice versa. Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works. Temporary Road Closures & 20MPH Speed Limit– Folkestone & Hythe– from 5th January 2026 for up to 18 months Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Folkestone & Hythe, as per the schedule below. This Order takes effect on or after 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed.
