Your Community Library


Lydd Library (incorporating the Romney Marsh Craft Gallery) overlooks the Rype in the historic Old School in Skinner Road. Offering accessible premises and facilities, with a good selection of books, DVD films and spoken word material in a variety of genre, it has something to offer to every member of the community. We have:

Public access computers (with accessibility software), including one equipped with a scanner.

Colour and black/white printing from the computers (for a small charge).
Black and white photocopying (for a small charge).
Children’s Library and reading area with books suitable for all ages.
Large print section.
Well stocked teenage fiction section.
WI-FI is now available

The Library opening hours are:

Monday 11am – 4pm    |    Tuesday 11am – 4pm    |    Wednesday – Closed    |    Thursday 11am – 4pm    |    Friday Midday – 4pm
Saturday 9am – 1pm    |     Sunday – Closed

Did you know that as well as enabling you to borrow items and use the library computers, library membership gives you access to more than 50 online reference subscriptions; Ancestry Library Edition and Find My Past Community Edition are just two of the wide range available.

You can also borrow e-books and digital audiobooks, and reserve items from our catalogue to collect from your local library free of charge.

Reading Group
